Firstly, I have not heard that this was considered obvious - it was not obvious to Schrödinger - but this article is not primarily about that. It’s about his role in formulating the original matrix mechanics. As I mention in the article, he was nominated 32 times after 1932, which indicates that many people felt he had not received due recognition.
