What I mean is that Kuhn is saying that, as a matter of historical observation, scientific institutions defend the boundaries of the current paradigm. He is not saying that a scientist who challenges this paradigm is actually at fault or that these institutions *should* behave in this manner, as the author seems to be stating here. As for your personal experience, prominent physicists deal with a flood of correspondence from people believing they have found the theory of everything or disproved relativity, which they simply delete or all they’d spend their time doing is futilely arguing with non-scientists about why they’re wrong. In the event you’re actually right, this is unfortunate, but your only recourse is to actually gain recognition for your scientific work in order to establish your credibility.
