Thanks for your comments. Yes, most of these women were less educated and from lower socioeconomic circumstances than me. This is the problem. We don’t know how to offer everyone the quality of education that I received. If we did, we wouldn’t see the likes of Trump being able to hoodwink half the US population. So yes it’s an education problem but it’s also an economic problem. High quality education is costly. It might also be a problem with what we are choosing to teach, as you suggest. Critical thinking and emotional self awareness are skills we should be building into our curricula from the start.
