Someone is exploited because the people who live far away are obviously paid a pittance to make it. It takes me 20 minutes to make $30. How much of that $30 went to the person who wove the wicker, and how long did it take to weave? That is global wealth inequality. I’m not American, but I’m not a “buy Australian” type. I’m a “buy ethical” type, though as I say, the options to do that are few, since exploitation is systemic.
