Oh yeah. I was put through a whole series of interviews by a company that head hunted me for a role similar to the one I was in. Straight up I asked them if I could work from home, as we were in different cities. They said I could, then sent me the technical test which involved writing up a detailed technical specification of the system they wanted to develop - a type of system I had designed for the company I was working for. This took quite some time but I did it, then attended an in-person interview in which my brain was picked further about the details. Then silence. Eventually they told me they had decided against hiring someone fully remote. Completely disrespectful of my time and effort, and frankly highly suspicious. I think they basically stole my technical specs because they weren’t confident/competent enough to build the system on their own. In respectful but assertive terms, I told them how I felt about this interview process. They never bothered to reply, because of course they didn’t.
