Not that. Far be it from me to defend all the excesses of today’s left, but the demands if the left in relation to historically disadvantaged groups is always grounded in precisely that reality: that the “freedom” that the right defends is not some abstract disembodied thing; it’s been the freedom to enslave and exploit and expropriate, and what the left is demanding is rectification of that, not the elevation of personal rights as if everyone’s ability to choose and be free were the same.
