It’s exceptionally hard I agree, and as I say, the best we can do is loosen the grip. Education on cognitive biases and social psychology phenomena such as groupthink can definitely help. I like to think I’ve been partly successful in this endeavor to achieve objectivity (note partly), but I agree it’s probably unrealistic to expect the bulk of humanity to be able to achieve this.
