As a software engineer, I find it far from a scam. Notably superior code. The fact that I don’t have to do CoT prompting myself is a win. Of course OpenAI are masters of hype and vaporware (when do we get 4o full voice mode as demoed in the Jurassic? When do we get Sora?), but this model has kept me from moving to Claude, which I was certainly close to.
